Precision Machining Capabilities
Since 1946, ORRCO has delivered precision machining capabilities with proven engineering expertise and production reliability. Our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Greensburg, Pennsylvania combines advanced CNC technology with decades of process knowledge to produce high-quality components for demanding applications across multiple industries.
From prototype quantities to multi-million piece production runs, ORRCO brings the equipment, experience, and quality systems to be your reliable precision machining partner.
CNC Mill-Turn Machining
ORRCO's multi-axis CNC mill-turn centers produce complex, multi-feature components complete in a single setup — eliminating the need to transfer parts between machines and reducing handling that can affect tolerances. This capability is ideal for parts that require both turned features (like bores and threads) and milled features (like slots, flats, and cross-drilled holes).
Our CNC mill-turn equipment handles complex geometries including hydraulic valve bodies with precise internal bores and cross-drilled ports, medical device components with tight tolerances and multiple features, and custom housings that require both turning and milling operations.
Capabilities:
- Multi-axis simultaneous machining
- Complex parts completed in single setup
- Tight tolerances down to ±0.0001 inches
- Parts from 1/4 inch to 2-9/16 inches in diameter
- Live tooling for milling, drilling, and tapping
Multi-Spindle Screw Machining
For high-volume production of precision components, ORRCO's multi-spindle screw machines deliver consistent quality and cost-effective pricing. These machines produce multiple parts simultaneously with exceptional repeatability — ideal for connectors, fittings, fasteners, and other components required in quantities from thousands to millions.
Our multi-spindle capability supports medical device manufacturers, refrigeration valve companies, electronics OEMs, and other industries that require large quantities of small, precise components with dimensional consistency across every piece.
Capabilities:
- High-volume production runs
- Exceptional part-to-part repeatability
- Cost-effective for large quantities
- Multiple operations in one machine cycle
- Tight tolerances maintained across production runs
Custom Rotary Machining
ORRCO operates custom-built rotary machining centers designed specifically for specialized applications including coal mining bit bodies and other high-volume precision components. These custom machines combine the efficiency of automated production with the precision required for critical dimensional features.
Our custom rotary machinery supports manufacturers who need large quantities of specialized parts machined to exacting specifications with consistent quality run after run.
CNC Turning and Milling
In addition to our mill-turn and multi-spindle capabilities, ORRCO operates conventional CNC turning centers and machining centers for versatile production of turned and milled components. This equipment supports both short-run and production quantities across a wide range of part sizes and geometries.
Secondary Operations and Assembly
ORRCO provides integrated secondary operations to deliver finished components ready for your assembly process:
- Ultrasonic Cleaning — in-house ultrasonic cleaning removes chips, oils, and particulate to ensure components arrive clean and ready for use
- Deburring and Finishing — removal of burrs and sharp edges for safe handling and proper assembly
- Thread Rolling and Tapping — precision thread cutting for fasteners and threaded components
- Assembly — multi-component assembly and sub-assembly to reduce your vendor count
- Coatings and Plating — coordination of external plating, coating, and heat treatment services
Materials We Machine
ORRCO's experienced machinists work with a full range of metals and engineering plastics:
- Brass — our most common material; excellent for valves, fittings, connectors, and electrical components
- Steel and Alloy Steels — 4140, 4340, 1018, 12L14, and other grades for structural and wear applications
- Stainless Steel — 303, 304, 316, 17-4 PH for corrosion-resistant components
- Aluminum — 6061, 7075, and other alloys for lightweight parts and housings
- Copper — electrical and thermal applications
- Engineering Plastics — Delrin, PEEK, nylon, and other engineered polymers
- Specialty Materials — carbide-compatible steels and other materials upon request
Tolerance and Quality Capabilities
ORRCO routinely holds tolerances to ±0.0001 inches on critical features including bores, threads, and port locations. Our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system ensures dimensional consistency through documented processes, in-process inspection, and final verification before shipment.
Every component is inspected against your drawing and specifications. Dimensional reports are available on request, and we work directly with your quality team to meet specific documentation requirements for medical, aerospace, and other regulated industries.
Production Volume Range
ORRCO supports manufacturers across the full spectrum of production needs:
- Prototype and Short Runs — 1 to 500 pieces for testing, validation, and pilot production
- Medium Volume — 500 to 50,000 pieces for ongoing production and replacement parts
- High Volume — 50,000+ pieces for large OEM production runs and consumable components
We work with your procurement and engineering teams to optimize parts for efficient production at any volume, balancing cost, quality, and lead time to meet your specific requirements.
